In this guide
A smartphone for Cricket Wireless should balance dependable cellular service, a comfortable display, capable cameras, and features that match how you use your phone. Renewed Apple models can provide familiar hardware and software, while unlocked Android options may offer greater flexibility and useful performance without tying the device to one carrier.
We compared all ten options by examining Cricket compatibility, storage capacity, display characteristics, camera hardware, connectivity, battery-related assurances, and package details. The list includes renewed iPhones in several sizes and configurations, a 5G Apple option, and an unlocked Motorola model, allowing shoppers to compare both premium and budget-oriented choices.
Each review identifies the strongest feature of its featured phone and explains the compromises that may matter to you. Locked devices require Cricket service, renewed hardware has different condition considerations than a new phone, and package contents can vary, so confirm the current listing and your carrier requirements before ordering. Prices and availability can change.

1. Apple iPhone 14 – Balanced Camera and Durability
Apple iPhone 14
128GB internal storage
Dual rear camera system
IP68 water resistance
Ceramic Shield glass front
The Apple iPhone 14 is a strong all-purpose choice for someone shopping for a smartphone for Cricket Wireless. It carries a 4.0 rating and pairs familiar Apple hardware with a useful combination of features: a dual-camera system, 128GB of storage, Ceramic Shield on the front, and an aluminum body with a glass back. Its renewed status makes it especially relevant for buyers who want a capable iPhone without paying the premium associated with a new device.
Pros
- Strong camera configuration
- 128GB storage capacity
- IP68 rated protection
- Premium Apple design
Cons
- Renewed hardware condition
- Apple iOS ecosystem

Its camera system is one of the most attractive parts of the package. Two rear cameras provide more shooting flexibility than a single-camera phone, allowing you to move between standard and wide perspectives without carrying a second device. The 128GB capacity also provides enough room for app downloads, music, photographs, videos, and routine files, although buyers who routinely record extensive 4K footage may still need to manage storage carefully.
Durability is another point in its favor. The phone is rated IP68 under IEC standard 60529 for protection against water exposure up to a maximum depth of six meters for up to 30 minutes. That rating offers useful everyday resilience around spills and rain, but it is not permission to submerge the device or expose it to pressurized liquids. As a renewed product, its cosmetic and functional condition should be considered alongside the listing details.
This iPhone makes the most sense for a Cricket customer who wants a compact, recognizable smartphone with a capable camera and useful durability. Confirm the current condition description, included accessories, and activation requirements before buying. It is a particularly balanced recommendation for shoppers who value camera flexibility, storage, and Apple's integrated hardware-software experience without choosing the largest or most premium model in the roundup.
A Flexible Dual-Camera Setup
The dual-camera system gives the iPhone 14 more framing options for everyday photography. It is a practical advantage for travel, family photos, landscapes, and quick social-media captures without adding the bulk of a larger Pro model.
Durability for Daily Handling
Ceramic Shield glass, a glass back, and an IP68 rating make the phone better suited to regular wear than a device with no stated water-resistance rating. Care is still important, and protective accessories can help guard against drops and scratches.

2. Apple iPhone 13 – Dependable Storage and Value
Apple iPhone 13
128GB internal storage
Cricket-only carrier lock
Minimum 80% battery
Mfi certified charging accessories
The renewed Apple iPhone 13 in Midnight offers a balanced combination of storage, recognizable design, and Cricket compatibility. Its 4.0 rating reflects a phone that remains a credible option for customers who want an established Apple model with 128GB of internal storage. The important qualifier is its carrier lock: this device is intended for Cricket and cannot be used with another carrier.
Pros
- Generous storage capacity
- Battery health guarantee
- Familiar Apple experience
- Midnight finish option
Cons
- Locked to Cricket only
- No SIM card included
- Headphones not included

Storage is the standout practical feature. At 128GB, the phone has room for a large app collection, years of ordinary photos, streamed music, messages, and miscellaneous documents. That makes it easier to live with than a smaller-capacity model if you download games, keep family media on the device, or want fewer reasons to manage files manually.
The listing states that the battery has been tested and is guaranteed to retain at least 80% of its capacity. That is meaningful reassurance for a renewed phone because battery wear is one of the most important variables affecting long-term use. The package includes a generic Mfi certified charger and charging cable, but no headphones or SIM card are provided. Users need a compatible Cricket SIM to complete activation.
Choose this iPhone 13 if you are committed to Cricket, want a familiar iPhone, and place storage above having the newest processor or latest camera arrangement. Confirm compatibility with Cricket before checkout, inspect the renewed condition terms, and allow time for activation after delivery. For a Cricket customer seeking a straightforward 128GB iPhone, it remains a sensible option.
Storage That Suits Daily Use
A 128GB capacity gives the iPhone 13 comfortable room for photos, apps, messages, music, and downloaded video. It is a practical middle ground for users who want more flexibility than a 64GB model without moving to a 256GB configuration.
Renewed Battery Assurance
The stated minimum 80% battery-capacity guarantee gives renewed buyers a useful baseline. It does not eliminate normal charging needs, but it offers more certainty than an unspecified used-device condition.

3. Apple iPhone 15 – Modern Features for Cricket
Apple iPhone 15
128GB internal storage
6.1-inch Super Retina
Dynamic Island display
USB-C connector
The Apple iPhone 15 stands out as one of the most modern-looking devices in this roundup, combining a 6.1-inch all-screen Super Retina XDR display with Dynamic Island technology. Its 3.9 rating is slightly lower than most of the other phones listed, but the underlying feature set is strong: 128GB of storage, dual rear cameras with Ultra Wide and Main lenses, and a USB-C connector.
Pros
- Dynamic Island display
- USB-C connectivity
- Ultra Wide camera option
- Battery capacity guarantee
Cons
- Cricket-only carrier lock
- Lowest listed rating
- No headphone package

Dynamic Island gives the front of the phone a distinctive appearance while adding an active area for information that changes with the current activity. The Super Retina XDR display is also a meaningful upgrade for streaming, browsing, reading, and mobile gaming. The device includes a generic Mfi certified charging cable, and its USB-C port is positioned for modern charging and data-transfer habits.
For photography, the pairing of Main and Ultra Wide cameras covers two common needs: standard scenes and wider compositions. The listing does not state that the iPhone 15 includes a telephoto camera, so buyers should not assume the same optical versatility as a multi-camera Pro model. Its renewed battery is tested and guaranteed to have at least 80% capacity.
This is a compelling pick for a Cricket customer who prioritizes a current-looking display and modern connector. It is locked exclusively to Cricket, so the service requirement is not negotiable, and no SIM card or headphones are included. Check compatibility and the listing's renewed-condition details before ordering, but for users focused on contemporary design, Dynamic Island, and USB-C, the iPhone 15 offers an attractive package.
A More Modern Front Design
The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display and Dynamic Island create a more contemporary appearance than many of the older iPhone designs in the list. That distinction is especially visible during everyday use, where the display remains central to browsing, media, and communication.
USB-C and Versatile Cameras
USB-C aligns the phone with newer accessory and cable standards. The Main and Ultra Wide rear cameras provide useful flexibility for common photography, though the absence of a listed telephoto lens keeps it below the most advanced camera systems.

4. Motorola Moto G Play LTE – Flexible Budget Choice
Motorola Moto G Play LTE
64GB built-in storage
90Hz HD+ display
50MP quad-pixel camera
5000mAh battery capacity
The Motorola Moto G Play LTE is the roundup's clearest budget-oriented and carrier-flexible option. It is unlocked, made for the US market, and carries a 4.2 rating. Rather than reproducing the newest flagship iPhone features, it focuses on practical fundamentals: a 90Hz HD+ display, stereo sound, 50MP camera hardware, 64GB of built-in storage, and a 5000mAh battery.
Pros
- Unlocked carrier flexibility
- Smooth 90Hz display
- Large 5000mAh battery
- Expandable storage support
Cons
- Only 4GB device memory
- Water-repellent not waterproof
- Modest 64GB storage
We may earn a commission when you buy through this link, at no additional cost to you.
The Snapdragon 680 processor and 4GB of RAM support everyday activities such as messaging, browsing, streaming, navigation, and lighter entertainment. Its 6.5-inch display can refresh at up to 90Hz, although the actual rate varies with app requirements, device settings, and content. Stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio support make it a more satisfying option for media use.
Storage is expandable by up to 1TB with a microSD card, helping offset the more modest 64GB internal capacity. The camera combines four pixels into one to achieve greater light sensitivity, though the effective photo resolution is 12.5MP. Its water-repellent design helps with moderate splashes and light rain but is not waterproof and is not intended for submersion.
The Moto G Play is ideal for a Cricket customer who wants to keep the option of changing carriers later, needs a large display and long-lasting battery, or prefers to spend less on a new device. It is also the only new, non-renewed phone among the featured products, based on the supplied listings. Those advantages make it a strong alternative to the more expensive and carrier-locked Apple options.
Carrier Freedom at Purchase
The unlocked configuration gives this model more flexibility than a Cricket-locked device. It is particularly appealing if you want to use the phone with Cricket now but prefer not to permanently limit your future carrier options.
Big Battery and Expandable Storage
A 5000mAh battery targets long daily use, while microSD expansion provides an easy way to add room for media and files. Actual endurance depends on network conditions, settings, temperature, and individual usage patterns.

5. Apple iPhone 14 Plus – Spacious Screen for Streaming
Apple iPhone 14 Plus
128GB internal storage
Cricket-locked renewed model
Plus-sized display design
128GB file capacity
The Apple iPhone 14 Plus is aimed at Cricket customers who want a larger-screen iPhone and enough storage for everyday media without moving into the 256GB Pro Max tier. It has a 4.0 rating, a Midnight color, 128GB of storage, and a renewed configuration locked to Cricket. The principal attraction is the combination of screen size and familiar Apple experience.
Pros
- Large Plus-form display
- Generous storage capacity
- Cricket-specific configuration
- Renowned Apple software
Cons
- Cricket-only carrier lock
- Larger body to carry
- Limited listing specifications
We may earn a commission when you buy through this link, at no additional cost to you.
The larger display is useful for watching video, reading messages and articles, browsing shopping pages, using maps, and handling split-screen tasks. Although the supplied listing does not enumerate the exact panel dimensions or resolution, the model name and Plus designation identify it as the larger member of the iPhone 14 family rather than the compact standard version.
Its information is more limited than that of several other entries. The listing specifies Cricket locking and provides activation instructions: insert a compatible SIM, power on the phone, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on-screen prompts. It does not list the charger, cable, camera configuration, water-resistance rating, or battery-health guarantee, so those details should be confirmed on the current product page.
Choose the iPhone 14 Plus when screen size is a priority and you intend to remain with Cricket. It is a better fit for users who regularly consume media or want a roomier canvas, while the standard iPhone 14 may be easier to carry. Because renewed-condition details can vary by listing, check the condition notes, included items, battery details, and warranty information before completing the purchase.
More Room for Media
The Plus-sized display gives videos, reading material, maps, and messaging a more expansive canvas. That benefit is especially noticeable for users who spend substantial time watching content or browsing on a phone.
A Straightforward Cricket Purchase
The phone is configured for Cricket activation with a compatible SIM. Because it remains carrier locked, buyers who may change carriers should choose an unlocked model instead.

6. Apple iPhone 13 – Colorful Storage-Focused Option
Apple iPhone 13
128GB internal storage
Cricket-only carrier lock
Minimum 80% battery
Blue exterior finish
The Blue Apple iPhone 13 is a storage-equipped renewed iPhone for customers firmly committed to Cricket. It shares the 4.0 rating and core configuration of the Midnight version while offering a different color choice. Its 128GB capacity, battery-health guarantee, and included generic Mfi certified charging equipment make it a practical package rather than a bare device.
Pros
- 128GB storage capacity
- Distinctive Blue color
- Tested battery health
- Charger and cable included
Cons
- Cricket-only compatibility
- SIM card not included
- No headphones included
We may earn a commission when you buy through this link, at no additional cost to you.
The listing specifically states that the phone is locked to Cricket only. Cricket users need a compatible SIM card, and the device does not include one. Activation involves inserting the SIM, powering on the phone, connecting to Wi-Fi, and following the on-screen prompts. Headphones are also absent, though a generic Mfi certified charger and charging cable are included.
For renewed-device shoppers, the tested battery with a guaranteed minimum capacity of 80% is especially relevant. It provides a defined baseline and can make the phone feel more dependable than a used device with no battery information. It does not mean the battery will never need replacement, and normal charging and power-management practices still apply.
Pick the Blue iPhone 13 if you want an iPhone 13 with ample storage, prefer its color, and have no need to switch carriers. It is also a sensible way to compare available colors while keeping the same core configuration. Verify the renewed condition, activation steps, and current listing inclusions, and confirm your Cricket plan is suitable before ordering.
A Defined Battery Baseline
The tested battery and minimum 80% capacity guarantee make condition easier to assess. This is useful transparency for a renewed purchase, although it should not be interpreted as unlimited battery life.
Color Without Losing Storage
The Blue finish gives the iPhone 13 a more distinctive look while preserving the same 128GB capacity as the Midnight edition. Color choice is subjective, so compare the current photographs with your own preferences.

7. Apple iPhone 11 – Detailed Cameras and Value
Apple iPhone 11
64GB internal storage
4GB device memory
6.1-inch Liquid Retina
Dual 12MP cameras
The Apple iPhone 11 in Black is a specification-rich option for a Cricket customer seeking an established iPhone at a more attainable tier. It has a 4.2 rating, matching the highest customer rating in this group, and the supplied information is notably detailed. Its 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD display, dual 12MP rear cameras, 64GB storage, and 4GB of RAM cover the essential smartphone categories well.
Pros
- Detailed dual-camera system
- Optical image stabilization
- Wi-Fi 6 connectivity
- 64GB compact storage
Cons
- Older Lightning-style connector
- Smaller 64GB capacity
- Locked to Cricket
We may earn a commission when you buy through this link, at no additional cost to you.
The rear camera system pairs a 12MP wide camera with optical image stabilization and a 12MP Ultra Wide camera. That combination gives you two perspectives and helps with stabilization, while the selfie camera is a 12MP f/2.2 wide camera with HDR and a 3D camera. For everyday photography, the dedicated wide and Ultra Wide lenses provide more choice than a single-camera phone.
Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi with 802.11ax support, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a proprietary reversible USB connector. The device also carries Face ID, an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, compass, barometer, and support for Siri. These specifications make it a capable option for communication, navigation, media, and connected accessories.
The main limitation is that 64GB offers less room than the 128GB iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 options. The older connector and generation of hardware may also matter if USB-C accessories are central to your routine. Nevertheless, for a Cricket customer who values dual cameras, optical image stabilization, a large display, and a strong 4.2 rating, this renewed iPhone 11 is a persuasive choice.
Two Rear Camera Perspectives
The 12MP wide and 12MP Ultra Wide setup gives the iPhone 11 flexibility for landscapes, group shots, travel scenes, and everyday portraits. Optical image stabilization on the wide camera is a particularly useful feature for steadier handheld stills.
Modern Wireless Connectivity
Support for Wi-Fi 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.0 keeps the phone well equipped for contemporary wireless accessories and home networks. The proprietary reversible connector is the main connectivity compromise for buyers centered on USB-C.

8. Apple iPhone 12 – Compact Storage and Color
Apple iPhone 12
64GB internal storage
Cricket-only carrier lock
Minimum 80% battery
Product Red exterior
The Product Red Apple iPhone 12 gives Cricket customers a visually distinctive renewed iPhone with 64GB of storage. It carries a 4.0 rating and shares important renewed-device assurances with the iPhone 13 listings: Cricket-only locking, a tested battery guaranteed to retain at least 80% capacity, and an included generic Mfi certified charger and charging cable.
Pros
- Distinctive Product Red finish
- Tested battery condition
- Compact 64GB configuration
- Charger and cable included
Cons
- Cricket-only compatibility
- SIM and headphones excluded
- Limited storage capacity
We may earn a commission when you buy through this link, at no additional cost to you.
Its most immediately appealing feature is the Product Red finish. Color is a personal preference, but a bright option can help a renewed phone feel more distinctive and make it easier to tell apart from devices owned by other family members. The familiar Apple design also supports a broad selection of familiar apps, accessories, and user habits.
The 64GB capacity is the key practical constraint. It can comfortably hold the apps, messages, music, and ordinary photo library of a moderate user, but heavy video recording or large app installations can fill it quickly. There is no microSD option, so managing internal storage remains important. The listing does not provide detailed display or camera specifications, so consult the current product information for those attributes.
This iPhone 12 is a good match for a Cricket customer who prioritizes color, established iPhone design, and a defined battery condition on a renewed device. Check with Cricket for compatibility before purchase, and expect to use your own SIM card. Headphones are not included, and current condition and warranty details should be reviewed before checkout.
Renewed Purchase Transparency
The tested battery guarantee, included charging equipment, and clearly stated carrier lock make the package easier to understand. These details help you compare the phone against other renewed models before making a commitment.
A Memorable Finish
Product Red gives this iPhone 12 a bold appearance compared with the Black, Blue, Midnight, and Green options elsewhere in the list. It is a simple but meaningful benefit for buyers who care about personal style.

9. Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max – Premium Storage and Design
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max
256GB internal storage
Black Titanium finish
Cricket-only carrier lock
Aerospace-grade titanium construction
The Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max is the premium choice in this roundup, combining 256GB of storage with a Black Titanium finish and aerospace-grade titanium construction. Its 4.0 rating, modern Pro Max format, and generous file capacity make it the natural top option for a Cricket customer who wants the most advanced and spacious model listed.
Pros
- Largest listed storage capacity
- Premium titanium construction
- Sophisticated Black finish
- Battery health guarantee
Cons
- Cricket-only compatibility
- Large and heavy form factor
- Premium-tier purchase
We may earn a commission when you buy through this link, at no additional cost to you.
Storage is the clearest practical advantage. At 256GB, the phone has twice the capacity of the 64GB models and twice the capacity of the 128GB entries. That additional room is helpful for extensive photo libraries, video projects, large app collections, offline media, and productivity files. Users who rarely delete content can spend less time managing storage.
The material and finish also reinforce the premium positioning. Aerospace-grade titanium contributes to a durable yet sophisticated appearance, while Black Titanium gives the device a restrained, professional look. The renewed battery has been tested and guaranteed to have a minimum capacity of 80%, providing useful reassurance for a higher-end renewed purchase.
This model is locked to Cricket and does not include headphones or a SIM card. A generic Mfi certified charging cable is included. The Pro Max form factor may be too large for people who prefer compact phones, and buyers should consider both one-handed comfort and the premium-tier commitment. For a Cricket customer who values storage, premium construction, and the newest Pro design, however, it is the strongest aspirational choice in the guide.
Storage for Ambitious Users
The 256GB capacity is double that of most Apple models in the roundup, making the Pro Max better suited to extensive media libraries and large app collections. It reduces the need to transfer or delete files routinely.
Premium Materials and Finish
Aerospace-grade titanium construction gives the phone a refined and durable design language, while Black Titanium offers a professional look. The premium material also contributes to the phone's larger overall feel.

10. Apple iPhone 13 – Distinctive Green Storage Option
Apple iPhone 13
128GB internal storage
Cricket-only carrier lock
Minimum 80% battery
Green exterior finish
The Green Apple iPhone 13 is another strong Cricket-locked option, combining a distinctive color with 128GB of storage. It has a 4.0 rating and a renewed condition backed by a tested battery guarantee of at least 80% capacity. For shoppers who find the conventional Black and Midnight finishes too conventional, Green provides a visible alternative without reducing storage.
Pros
- Unique Green finish
- Roomy 128GB storage
- Tested battery condition
- Charging cable included
Cons
- Cricket-only compatibility
- No SIM card included
- No headphones included
We may earn a commission when you buy through this link, at no additional cost to you.
The core package is straightforward. The phone is locked to Cricket only, so it cannot be activated for use with a competing carrier. A compatible SIM card is required but not included. After delivery, activation involves inserting the SIM, powering on the phone, connecting to Wi-Fi, and following the on-screen prompts.
A generic Mfi certified charger and charging cable are included, while headphones are not. The battery-health guarantee gives renewed buyers a more concrete condition baseline, especially when comparing the phone with used devices sold without any battery information. As with any renewed phone, external condition, software cleanliness, and warranty coverage should also be reviewed.
The Green iPhone 13 is appropriate for Cricket customers who want the iPhone 13's familiar platform and useful 128GB capacity in a livelier finish. It ranks behind the standard iPhone 14 in overall feature modernity and the iPhone 15 Pro Max in premium capacity, but color preference can make it the most personally satisfying of the 128GB iPhone 13 variants. Confirm compatibility and renewed condition before ordering.
A Personal Style Advantage
Green makes the iPhone 13 easier to distinguish from standard black and dark-finish phones. That personalization is especially appealing for users who want their phone to look less ordinary.
Proven Storage and Battery Details
The 128GB capacity supports a broad range of everyday media and apps, while the minimum 80% battery guarantee provides a clear condition baseline. Together they make the renewed offering easier to evaluate confidently.

Buying Guide – How to Choose the Best Smartphone for Cricket Wireless
The most important decisions are carrier compatibility, screen and camera needs, storage capacity, battery condition, and the type of phone condition you are comfortable purchasing. These factors should be evaluated together rather than treating one specification as decisive on its own.
Confirm Cricket Lock and Activation
Carrier compatibility is the first filter to apply. Several renewed iPhones in this guide are explicitly locked to Cricket Wireless and cannot be used with another carrier. The Moto G Play LTE is unlocked, which can be useful if you want more freedom, although you should still confirm that its bands and network features meet your needs. For a locked model, verify compatibility with Cricket before checkout, obtain a compatible SIM, and follow the listed activation process after delivery. Treat carrier freedom as a long-term feature rather than an afterthought because switching providers later is impossible with a Cricket-locked device.
Compare Storage With Your Media
Storage requirements depend on how you use your phone. The 64GB options suit lighter users, while 128GB gives more room for apps, photos, messages, music, and downloaded video. The 256GB iPhone 15 Pro Max is the strongest choice for people who retain large media collections or work with more demanding files. Android users can also consider microSD expansion, which the Moto G Play supports up to 1TB. Look beyond the headline number when appropriate, because usable storage is lower after operating-system and software requirements. Avoid choosing the smallest capacity if you routinely record high-resolution video or install many large applications.
Evaluate Display Size and Quality
The list spans compact and large formats, with the iPhone 14 Plus and Moto G Play LTE especially suited to users who prefer more screen area. The iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with Dynamic Island, while the iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD display. Consider readability, media visibility, pocketability, and one-handed comfort together. A large display can make reading, streaming, and navigation more comfortable, but it may also be less convenient for long one-handed sessions. Check the final listing for the exact specifications of models whose supplied information is abbreviated.
Look Beyond Megapixel Counts
Camera resolution alone does not determine image quality. The iPhone 11 has two clearly specified 12MP rear cameras, including an Ultra Wide lens and optical image stabilization, while the iPhone 15 combines Main and Ultra Wide cameras. The Moto G Play has a 50MP sensor, but its pixel-combining process produces an effective resolution of 12.5MP. Consider lens variety, stabilization, processing, and intended use rather than comparing sensor numbers in isolation. If video, low-light work, or close-range flexibility matters, review the current camera details and any included limitations before choosing.
Understand Renewed Battery Conditions
A renewed phone should be evaluated with battery condition in mind. Multiple listings state that the battery was tested and guaranteed to retain at least 80% capacity, which is a useful baseline. It does not guarantee that the battery will remain above that level indefinitely, and performance still depends on charging habits, temperature, network conditions, and individual use. For models where battery details are not supplied, seek that information before buying. Also inspect cosmetic condition, warranty terms, return options, and whether the device has been checked for functional issues.
Account for Network and Performance Needs
Your daily route, signal conditions, and data demands influence which phone feels best in practice. The Moto G Play LTE is built around a Snapdragon 680 processor and 4GB of RAM, a combination aimed at mainstream activities. The Apple options provide the familiar iOS experience and different generations of Apple hardware. Consider messaging, maps, streaming, navigation, photography, mobile gaming, and hotspot use. If you use demanding applications or want a phone to remain under pressure for years, favor more capable hardware and greater storage rather than choosing solely on display size or color.
Check Ports, Audio, and Accessories
The iPhone 15 includes USB-C, while the iPhone 11 uses a proprietary reversible connector. Your existing cable and accessory collection may therefore determine which model is more convenient. The Moto G Play supports stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio with compatible wired headphones and applications. Most renewed iPhone listings include a generic Mfi certified charger and cable but exclude headphones. Verify package contents before ordering so that you know whether you need to purchase additional accessories. A complete package can simplify setup, but missing headphones should not be confused with missing charging equipment.
Balance New and Renewed Risk
New and unlocked models offer a different ownership proposition from renewed carrier-locked devices. The Moto G Play LTE provides a new, unlocked option with expandable storage, while the iPhones are renewed and most are restricted to Cricket. Renewed hardware can deliver familiar premium features and meaningful value, but it also requires attention to condition, battery baseline, warranty, and cosmetic details. A new device may be preferable when predictability matters most. A renewed model can be the stronger choice when you value its specifications, storage, design, or Apple ecosystem and are comfortable reviewing its condition disclosures.
How to Use and Care for Your Smartphone for Cricket Wireless
Start with carrier activation. For a Cricket-locked model, obtain a compatible SIM card, insert it as directed, power on the phone, and connect to Wi-Fi when the activation prompt requests it. Follow the on-screen setup steps before restoring an old backup. For the unlocked Moto G Play, complete the initial setup and configure the compatible carrier service before moving apps, contacts, or media to the device.
Transfer information carefully rather than copying everything without reviewing it. Use the phone's built-in migration tools or the official transfer process for your previous device. Select only the photos, conversations, apps, and accounts you want to move, and confirm that important records are present before removing them from the old phone. After migration, check that important apps are updated and that your accounts, authentication methods, contacts, and photo albums are complete.
Protect both the device and its battery with consistent habits. Use a suitable case and screen protector, keep charging ports clean, and avoid exposing the phone to water beyond its stated rating. The Moto G Play is water-repellent rather than waterproof, while other devices should be handled according to their individual specifications. Charge with compatible equipment, avoid prolonged heat, and remove the phone from extreme temperatures to support long-term battery health.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all the phones in this guide locked to Cricket Wireless?
No. Most of the renewed iPhones listed are explicitly locked to Cricket Wireless and cannot be activated with another carrier. The Motorola Moto G Play LTE is unlocked, which gives you more freedom if you expect to change carriers later. Even with the unlocked model, you should confirm that the device supports the networks and services you need.
What does a Cricket-locked smartphone mean?
A Cricket-locked phone can generally be activated and used only with a compatible Cricket SIM and service. The lock makes these models suitable for committed Cricket customers but prevents later activation on a competing network. Always verify compatibility before purchase and follow the activation process after inserting a compatible SIM.
Are renewed iPhones safe to buy for everyday use?
Renewed iPhones can be suitable for everyday use when you review the condition, battery information, warranty, and return policy carefully. Several listings state that the battery was tested and guaranteed to have at least 80% capacity. That baseline is helpful, but you should still inspect the device promptly after delivery and report any problems through the appropriate return process.
Which model offers the most storage in this roundup?
The Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max has the most built-in storage at 256GB. It is the premium pick for users who want room for extensive photos, videos, applications, and files. The 128GB iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models offer a more moderate amount of space, while the Moto G Play adds up to 1TB of expandable microSD storage.
Which phone is the best budget-oriented option?
The Moto G Play LTE is the strongest budget-oriented choice based on its unlocked design, 4.2 rating, 90Hz display, large battery, expandable storage, and new-device status. Its 4GB of memory and 64GB internal storage are less generous than the premium Apple configurations, but they remain practical for many everyday users.
Does the Moto G Play LTE resist water?
The Moto G Play LTE has a water-repellent design intended to help with moderate exposure such as accidental spills, splashes, and light rain. It is not waterproof and is not designed for submersion, pressurized water, or other liquids. The protective barrier may diminish over time, so it should still be handled carefully.
Are chargers, cables, SIM cards, and headphones included?
The package depends on the model. Most renewed iPhone listings include a generic Mfi certified charger and charging cable, but they exclude headphones and SIM cards. The iPhone 15 listing includes a generic Mfi certified charging cable. Always check the current product listing for exact inclusions because package contents can vary.
Should I buy an iPhone 14 or iPhone 15 for Cricket?
The iPhone 15 offers newer features such as Dynamic Island, a Super Retina XDR display, and USB-C, while the iPhone 14 pairs a dual-camera system with an IP68 rating and the same 128GB storage capacity. If you prioritize current design and connectivity, the iPhone 15 is compelling; if durability and the iPhone 14 feature set are more important, it remains a strong choice.
Final Thoughts on Choosing the Best Smartphone for Cricket Wireless
The Moto G Play LTE is the best budget and flexibility pick because it is unlocked, new, equipped with a 90Hz HD+ display, and supported by a large battery and expandable storage. The iPhone 15 is the editor's choice for a Cricket customer who values Dynamic Island, USB-C, and a modern-looking display. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is the premium selection, offering 256GB of storage and an aerospace-grade titanium design.
Among the renewed iPhones, the iPhone 14 stands out for its balanced combination of dual cameras, 128GB of storage, and an IP68 rating. The iPhone 13 is available in several colors and offers a defined battery guarantee, while the iPhone 11 provides more detailed camera and connectivity specifications. Most importantly, choose based on whether you value carrier flexibility, storage, screen size, condition tolerance, and ecosystem preferences.
Before ordering, confirm Cricket compatibility, review the renewed condition, check battery and package details, and make sure the included charger or cable meets your setup.
